About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Regional Fleet Engineer to oversee the performance and compliance of our third-party maintenance and repair network. Your role will ensure efficient and cost-effective management to meet both business and customer operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety, and hygiene.
- Participate in cross/multi-skilled training within your department or other departments as directed.
- Engage with internal and external customers professionally and courteously.
- Conduct quality inspections of new vehicles during the build process.
- Drive the use of FraikinVIEW for better cost control and compliance adherence among external suppliers.
- Conduct audits across the provider network to ensure compliance with company and statutory maintenance standards.
- Manage warranty claims and manufacturer recall requirements.
- Monitor the performance of the repairer network against agreed KPIs.
- Provide technical appraisal of vehicles and component failures as required.
- Identify areas for continual improvement and develop solutions.
- Participate in engineering change management projects and tender responses.
- Support the reduction of vehicle downtime through proactive management of maintenance issues.
- Undertake technical inspections of vehicles and parts, producing written technical reports.
Person Specification:
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle engineering, ideally with relevant qualifications or experience.
- Strong relationship management skills, including influencing and persuasion abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in budgetary cost management.
- Competency in computer literacy, including Office 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and M3.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- Flexible attitude towards working hours.
