Bodyshop Technical Team Leader
JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Bodyshop Technical Team Leader is to:
- Manage the process of optimising workshop resources to meet agreed departmental budgets.
- Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated in an effective manner to other members of the department.
Reports to:
- Bodyshop General Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calculate and manage the effective use of workshop resources for the business.
- Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met.
- Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilising available skills mix.
- Identify individual training and development needs through coaching and support.
- Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress.
- Manage workshop standards in accordance with brand standards requirements.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of manufacturer service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators.
- Maintain and develop own skills and technical knowledge.
- Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules and standards of the business.
- Drive efficiency in the workshop
- Road test with customers to establish faults
- Fault finding with workshop
- Right First Time asking the correctly technical questions
- Help with warranty process and job cards
- Conduct morning meeting to review jobs and direct changes to improve first time fix
- To drive NPS
- To be 50% productive and 50% people manager
- Final Quality Control Sign off of all workshop jobs
Skills & Requirements
Essential:
- MET Technician background
- Competency in numeracy, literacy and IT
- Good organisational and leadership skill with the ability to delegate and motivate the team.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Smart appearance/workshop wear.
