Service Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Service and Repair:
- Perform meticulous service and repairs of instrumentation at our site.
- Manage stock levels and provide detailed reporting of work performed, from initial inspection to commissioning.
- Conduct procedures such as re-wiring/soldering of temperature sensors, replacement of precision seals, and identification of vacuum/pressurized gas leaks.

On-Site Visits:
- Estimated 30% travel, around the UK with occasional International Travel.
- Conduct installations, service, maintenance, and commissioning of cooling instrumentation at customer laboratory sites in the UK and worldwide.

Technical Support:
- Provide comprehensive technical support and perform remote diagnosis for our global customer base through email, phone, video, and PC remote access.
- Prepare customer-facing service documentation and technical notes.

Customer Training:
- Be the company's ambassador, providing customer training on instrumentation.
- Train partner service engineers on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree or qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in servicing equipment
- Strong hands-on technical skills, including fine soldering, electrical wiring, and high-precision mechanical assembly.
- Experience with vacuum, high pressure highly desirable.
- Excellent customer focus, with the ability to respond reliably to inquiries and effectively communicate with customers.
- Commercially astute with an appreciation for general service process management, including stock level and toolkit/repair station management.
- Demonstrate an agile and logical mindset with a strong ability to think on your feet and problem-solve.
