Logistics Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's logistics operations, including order fulfilment, warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation. The Logistics Manager will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain management, optimizing processes, and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage the order fulfilment operation, ensuring 100% on-time and in-full (OTIF) order fulfilment based on material commitment status.
- Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies, including stock control, movement, location, and item and quantity accuracy.
- Maintain a high level of 5S compliance throughout the warehouse and yard areas, achieving a minimum of 90% compliance.
- Demonstrate clear leadership behaviours, attitude, and discipline, providing a visible presence and taking action across the warehouse team.
- Ensure efficient resource management of warehouse labour to meet the business demand, including planning for vacation and absence cover.
- Drive a focused health and safety working environment, conduct regular WH audits, and maintain ISO9001 compliance.
- Provide strong man management across the wider team, communicate performance expectations, and address individual exceptions in a performance improvement environment.
- Oversee and manage the transport fleet and 3PL logistics operation to achieve 100% OTIF order fulfilment for UK customers.
- Control fleet vehicles and driver management, including vehicle service planning, tracking, and driver route management.
- Optimize vehicle load and route planning to maximize driving utilization and minimize standing time.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory fleet and driver requirements, including FORS, driving hours, standards, and PCN reduction.
- Manage 3PL service providers, monitor SLA achievement, and provide weekly reports on order fulfilment performance.
- Demonstrate clear leadership behaviours, attitude, and discipline across the transport and driver teams.
- Drive a focused health and safety working environment, conduct daily/weekly transport audits, and maintain ISO9001 compliance.
- Provide strong man management across the wider team, communicate performance expectations, and address individual exceptions in a performance improvement environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience of 5+ years in logistics management, including warehouse management and transport management.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve logistics issues.
- Proficient in using logistics management software and systems. Familiarity with WMS and ERP systems is a plus.
- Solid understanding of inventory management, order fulfilment, and transportation operations.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with suppliers, 3PL providers, and stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards and compliance.
- Ability to lead by example, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and prioritize customer service.
