About the vacant position

Position available: Experienced 3-Axis CNC Miller

Job Duties:

Role Purpose: To be involved in programming, setting vertical machining centers.
You will be involved in machining interesting parts that are small to medium batch quantities. The applicant will be required to create programs with experience using CNC mills with 3 & 4 axis controls on Mazak vertical machining centers.  The applicant will be expected to understand drawings with close tolerances and be experienced in machining different types of materials.

Responsibilities:

• Programming and setting CNC vertical milling centers
• Experienced work holding methods and best practices.
• High Precision machining.
• Working to close tolerances on a variety of materials to engineering drawings.
• Operating tools to engineering drawings and designs.
• Directly involved in continuous improvement programs and quality control.

Qualification & skills required for this position:

Essential Requirements:

• To be able to program, set and operate 3 & 4 axis milling machines
• To be able to read drawings and understand critical features
• To be able to find efficient methods of producing parts
• To be able to write, prove and run programs
• To be able to troubleshoot problems
• To be able to inspect parts to Drawings
• Someone who is continuously looking to improve methods, efficiency and procedures​

Desirable Skills (Non-Essential)

• Preferably someone who has used Hypermill Camware or similar packages, but this is not essential.
• Program Mazak Machines (however on the job training is available).
• Apprentice Trained.

Hours of work: Monday–Friday 7.30 am– 4 pm (40 hours) with 2x 15mins paid tea breaks and 30mins unpaid lunch break

Job Types: Permanent

Holiday:  Holiday 28 days including bank holidays.
