Moulding Technician
Job Title: Moulding Technician

Responsible for: Product Quality and Machine Efficiency
Job Role:
To ensure and oversea the efficient running of all machines and carry out tool/colour changes.
Objectives:
- Technical support to setters to ensure maximum efficiency is achieved.
- Drive continuous improvement in line with LPO.
- Carry out and reduce tool change times and Right First Time in line with the Company targets.
Duties to be performed:
- Support the production support manager with the tool change improvements.
- Ensure correct preparation before each tool change.
- To support setter operators in the methods of efficient tool changes and give training on an on-going basis.
- Complete tool changes, inclusive of the 2 man procedure.
- To identify and solve process problems.
- Ensure correct cycle times are achieved and maintained on all machines.
- To identify the implementation of process improvements within the factory.
- To ensure all moulding equipment is operating efficiently.
- Monitor and recording process changes.
- Liaise with the works engineering department for all tool repairs.
- Ensure correct health and safety and housekeeping levels are maintained.
- Supervise setter operators in following plans and procedures.
- Support the Technical Support Manager in maintaining good disciplines of housekeeping, scrap reduction and efficiencies.
- Basic Machine Maintenance (TPM).
- Any other duties as required.
Qualifications/Experience:
- To be able to perform this position effectively a basic knowledge of Numeracy and Literacy is required.
- Must have experience of process problem solving within an injection moulding environment and have attained an NVQ 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
- Experience of working on Husky / Krauss Maffei / Toshiba Injection Moulding machines.

3 Shift rotation (1 week of each)
0700 - 1500 (Mon- Fri)
2300 - 0700 (Sun - Thurs
1500 - 2300 (Mon-Thurs) & 1500 - 2200 (Fri)
Overtime:
x 1.5 for any hours worked over 8 per day and Saturday and Sunday.
x 2 for Friday night 2200 - 0600
The above applies after full contracted hours have been completed.
Holidays:
24 days per annum plus statutory holidays, 1 extra days holiday for every 3 years service.
