Moulding Technician

Job Title:                   Moulding Technician

Responsible for:        Product Quality and Machine Efficiency

Job Role:

To ensure and oversea the efficient running of all machines and carry out tool/colour changes.

Objectives:

  1. Technical support to setters to ensure maximum efficiency is achieved.
  2. Drive continuous improvement in line with LPO.
  3. Carry out and reduce tool change times and Right First Time in line with the Company targets.

Duties to be performed:

  1. Support the production support manager with the tool change improvements.
  2. Ensure correct preparation before each tool change.
  3. To support setter operators in the methods of efficient tool changes and give training on an on-going basis.
  4. Complete tool changes, inclusive of the 2 man procedure.
  5. To identify and solve process problems.
  6. Ensure correct cycle times are achieved and maintained on all machines.
  7. To identify the implementation of process improvements within the factory.
  8. To ensure all moulding equipment is operating efficiently.
  9. Monitor and recording process changes.
  10. Liaise with the works engineering department for all tool repairs.
  11. Ensure correct health and safety and housekeeping levels are maintained.
  12.  Supervise setter operators in following plans and procedures.
  13.  Support the Technical Support Manager in maintaining good disciplines of housekeeping, scrap reduction and efficiencies.
  14.  Basic Machine Maintenance (TPM).
  15.  Any other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience:

  1. To be able to perform this position effectively a basic knowledge of Numeracy and Literacy is required.
  2. Must have experience of process problem solving within an injection moulding environment and have attained an NVQ 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
  3. Experience of working on Husky / Krauss Maffei / Toshiba Injection Moulding machines.

3 Shift rotation (1 week of each)

0700 - 1500 (Mon- Fri)

2300 - 0700 (Sun - Thurs

1500 - 2300 (Mon-Thurs) & 1500 - 2200 (Fri)

Overtime:

x 1.5 for any hours worked over 8 per day and Saturday and Sunday.

x 2 for Friday night 2200 - 0600

The above applies after full contracted hours have been completed.

Holidays:

24 days per annum plus statutory holidays, 1 extra days holiday for every 3 years service.

Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £31,969.00 per year
