Desktop Support Analyst

Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join a young dynamic business within the support services team. The

role is to provide support and implementation services to a leading high profile client. The

individual will be responsible for ensuring that any support issues are dealt with effectively and in

a timely manner. Customer focus is extremely important and knowledge in frontline support (level

1 and 2) is highly desirable. A minimum of 1 years experience within a helpdesk role helping fix

many user level issues is required. The individual is expected to be a self-motivated, team player

with the ability to work within a demanding environment and be able to demonstrate a logical

approach to problem solving.

Job Role

- Review support tickets and manage through to resolution

- Assist with new system installations and document accordingly

- Deal with any user requests in a timely and professional manner

- Perform moves/changes of systems as required

- Assist with desktop rollouts and imaging of Laptops/PC’s

- Manage updates to Laptops/PC’s to ensure the latest software versions are maintained

- Review housekeeping activities to ensure all daily tasks are completed as expected

- Shift working may be required

Technical Skills

The individual will be expected to have excellent knowledge of desktop systems and understand

how to fix a number of common user level issues with applications, email, file access and

security. In addition, as the job role grows they will become exposed to the following technologies

and will need to be able to manage basic changes as required.

- VMware ESXi/vCenter Server

- MS SQL Server 2005/2008

- HP Servers

- Cisco Routers/Firewalls

- Backup Exec/Veeam
