Electrical Test engineer

Are you a skilled electrician with a passion for ensuring the safety and quality of electrical installations? We're looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of Electrical Test Engineer. In this position, you'll play a vital role in verifying and certifying our electrical systems, ensuring they meet the latest industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough testing and inspections of electrical installations in strict accordance with the latest edition of BS7671.
  • Logging and documenting test results for certification purposes, ensuring compliance with 18th Edition Regulations (BS7671).
  • Performing meticulous torque verification and proficiently installing various containment and wiring systems.
  • Upholding exceptional housekeeping standards and adhering to 5S principles.
  • Prioritizing health and safety at all times, safeguarding both yourself and your colleagues.
  • Effectively delegating tasks to improvers/apprentices and maintaining accountability for all tools.
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to assembly quality, taking pride in your workmanship and aesthetics.
  • Flexibly adapting to meet the dynamic demands of our business environment.

Additional Duties:

  • Expertly installing all electrical components and ensuring timely completion of the installation program.
  • Promptly reporting any issues to the Electrical Supervisor for swift resolution.
  • Completing all work in a safe and organized manner, in full compliance with company policies and H&S regulations.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Holding an ECS Card, preferably as an Approved Electrician.
  • Certified as 18th Edition qualified.
  • Possessing C&G Test & Inspection 2391 or 2394/5 accreditation.
  • Having completed a recognized apprenticeship or achieved NVQ Level 3.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of control panels, with experience considered advantageous.

Testing:

  • Conducting comprehensive testing and inspection of electrical installations, ensuring compliance with BS7671 standards.
  • Guaranteeing that all installations meet stringent quality standards and are free from defects.
  • Performing meticulous torque verification, emergency light tests, and LUX level checks.

Administration:

  • Proficiently completing NICEIC certificates using specialized software on a laptop.
  • Collaborating with the QS to ensure timely sign-off of all certificates.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with various metal containment systems.
  • Skilled in wiring, dressing, and termination using lugs and ferrules within containment systems.
  • Competent in connecting control wiring from panels to field equipment.
  • Prior experience in commercial and industrial sectors is highly desirable.

Role Requirements:

  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proven experience in testing commercial/industrial installations and compiling certification documents.
  • Possession of a Full UK Driving License.
  • Excellent timekeeping skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated dedication, motivation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Positive attitude and ability to inspire and motivate fellow team members.
