BIM Manager
Job Title: BIM Lead/Manager
Reports to: Professional Head of Electrification
Manages: CAD Team and Business
Hours of Work: As Required (40hrs)
JOB CONTENT
Primary tasks and duties:
– Managing and coordinating the CAD Team and Resource (internal and / or external) to meet agreed programmes and budgets
– Ensure that the Company Design Assurance is applied to all projects
– Maintains the CAD Manual and cell libraries to ensure that it meets with all requirements of the company procedures.
– Responsible to ensure that all works meets with the company's CAD manual and or where directed otherwise, i.e., customer requirements.
– Direct the CAD Team with respect to the appropriate International, National, Railway Group and Network Rail Company Standards, and application of current best engineering practice for all CAD works.
– Assist in determining design scope and the subsequent preparation of the valuation of design elements of Electrification work as part of the tendering process.
– Production of BIM execution plans for relevant projects
Secondary tasks and duties:
– Such duties and tasks as are allocated to you at the discretion of the Company. Such duties will be within capabilities, qualifications and certification of the post holder.
– Assist in maintaining Design Procedures to ensure they meet the company’s quality and environmental procedures and current best engineering practice.
– Assist in consultancy works where necessary
Qualifications and Training
Essential:
– 10+ years proven experience working with CAD
Desirable:
– BIM BSI Certification or equivalent
Knowledge
Essential:
– Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes
– Understanding and use BIM within design team
Desirable:
– Understanding of standards BS EN ISO 19650 and BS 1192
Skills and abilities
Essential:
– Ability to implement the use 3D multi-disciplinary modelling on projects
– Proficient in Microstation and Projectwise
– Track, monitor and implement international CAD standards
– Ability to work on multiple projects across different teams
