CNC MILLING SETTER OPERATOR

Our client have an exciting opportunity for the position of CNC Milling Setter
Operator reporting directly to the Production Manager. The successful applicant will be based at their production, assembly and test facility in Birmingham City Centre, where they design, manufacture, and repair a range of products and services for defence and industrial markets including ATEX Lighting, Electrical Distribution, Instrumentation and Control solutions.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Production Manager, and as part of the CNC Milling Team, you will be responsible for programming, setting/operating and either downloading existing programs or creating new programmes across one or two machines at a time deposing on the business needs.


Your duties will include but not be limited to the following.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / EXPERIENCE

- Setting & operating of CNC machinery on the section
- Adhering to company manufacturing procedures
- Conforming to specified engineering and quality standards
- First off part inspection (if applicable)
- General workmanship and quality care of products
- Adhering to the companies HSE policies
- Use of hand tools or other equipment on the section
- Record WIP & downtime for actual vs theoretical load/capacity.
- Validate first issue routings for manufactured items
- Supporting operators within the section to meeting departmental targets
- Act as a contingency in other areas part manufacturing department within the business

 ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience as a setter-operator with CNC milling machines
- Strong understanding of CNC milling and manufacturing processes
- Understand technical drawings and tolerances
- Be able to understand and meet departmental targets.
- Capability of programming Mazatrol programs
- Able to work on own initiative
- Support & train less experienced team members

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Capable of understanding & altering ISO Programmes
- Performed in a setter-operator role using Mazak machinery
- Experience with Mazak smooth G & Mazak 560M.
- Fundamental LEAN manufacturing knowledge
- Understand and adhere to 5S standards

EMPLOYMENT PACKAGE
