Project Manager – Ex Military Welcome
Job description
In order to meet our clients ambitious growth targets, they are looking for a Project Manager to help drive delivery within projects, whilst assisting in delivering improvements in manufacturing quality, efficiency and scalability.
Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will manage multi-disciplinary Engineering and Manufacturing teams, working to deliver solutions to complex design and engineering problems. You will be required to manage a diverse range of projects from small-scale feasibility studies to full manufacturing system rollouts. Proficiency working in multiple cross-functional teams and ability set priorities whilst maintaining attention to detail are essential requirements.
Day-to-day activities would include providing project management support through scheduling, task planning, team organisation, development of budgets/financial models and preparation of other supporting documentation as required. A key component of this work will be leveraging the effectiveness of the team’s activities through building positive and trusted relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders

Job Purpose: To manage key design, development and manufacturing projects from bid to completion within agreed time, cost and performance targets. To manage and develop the customer relationships on assigned projects
Scope / dimensions: Within a total employee population up to 120 employees
Key Responsibilities:
- To be the primary customer contact for assigned projects
- Successfully manage assigned projects for a business stream achieving customer requirements along with meeting the business goals of schedule, quality, cost, risk management
- Maximise opportunities to win new or follow-on business and prepare Bid information
- Monitor project performance against plan and identify appropriate corrective actions by conducting periodic cost, schedule, performance and risk reviews
- Identify and secure the required resources to successfully execute projects
- Provide effective leadership, manage all customer interfaces and communicate effectively to senior management team members and peers to establish a common understanding of project scope and plan for successful project execution
- Prepare and present project status reports to key stakeholders on a regular basis
- Motivate the team by communicating a shared vision, providing direction, setting common goals and mentoring, creating a team environment that encourages people to work towards a common objective
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the Management Team
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Knowledge and practical experience of best practice in Project Management techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent team working skills and ability to demonstrate clear leadership
Qualifications:
Educated to a minimum of HND standard or equivalent or with a proven track record of relevant experience in a similar design for manufacture or systems environment
Preferred:
- Educated to a minimum of Degree level
- Engineering or Technical background / understanding
- Associate member of APM (Association of Project Managers)
Any particular aptitude / skill required:
- Eligible to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.
- Full driving license required
